More water action

Sunday turned out to be even hotter than Saturday. We were all over at Grammie and Granmpie's house and we decided to bust out the duckie tub so little Josie can get in and cool down. Our little pumpkin loves to be outside but it was just getting too hot to hang around. So we move under the covered patio, filled up the tub, stripped down the chubster, and threw her in. She had the time of her life :D

Here's proof!

Splish Splash ... Quack Quack Quack

So Tuesday night was Josie's first swimmie lesson. That's right. For those of you are now throughly confused, feel free to go back and re-read that first sentence again. It won't cost you anything. Welcome back. Now you may be wondering "Hey you good looking Chinese man what's your baby going to swim lessons for? She can't even walk, let alone swim!" My thoughts exactly. However, SOMEONE, who shall be called "mommie" from here on out figured it'd be a good way for her to develop her blah blah blah. That's about all I could absorb when I posed the same question not that long ago. Of course, being the second in command around here means that in the end, "mommie" shoved MY doubts and reservations aside and went ahead and paid a ridiculous amount of money for some less than mediocre "lessons."

As a result, Josie got to play in a giant public puddle for the first time Tuesday night. We weren't sure how she was going to react; we figured either she would hate it and kick and scream the whole time, or she would love it and have the time of her life.

We never really took into account option C; zero reaction. Josie was completely cool, calm, and collected. If she could talk and and respond to the question of how the experience was, she'd probably say "meh".

But hey, we got a whole 15 minutes out of it. Yes, the lessons are supposed to be 30 min long, but due to the storm, they made us all get out, cutting our session short. Between the 3 min introduction and another 3 min of getting in and out of the pool, I'd say we got a good solid 10 minutes of floating, I mean, instructional time. Being the kind of guy that I am, I immediately asked the lady whether we'd get a make up lesson since this one was cut short. Her response was "no but maybe we'll add some extra time to the next ones" It was very convincing. I totally believed her. If you ask me, I say it's money well spent.

Most of the pictures didn't really come out all that great. It felt like I was in the middle of the Costa Rican rain forest. I brought the wrong lense to shoot with so I had to get right up at the edge of the pool. I spent most of my energy trying to make sure that I didn't drop the camera in to the pool.

Disclaimer: This entry has been one laden with sarcasm. It's simply my take on this matter. I do really support everything that "mommie" does for baby Josie. We both want what's best for her and strive to provide her with every opportunity that we can.

Happy Belated Easter! :Gobble Gobble:

Hope everyone had a great Easter doing Eastery things with their Easter loved ones. I spent the better part of Easter weekend working on our taxes. Thank GOD (pun intended) those are done. I actually just finished them yesterday so that's why I'm late uploading pictures.

Here's the first batch. The rest will be up tomorrow. Enjoy!

Blessing Ceremony

This past Sunday we had our Blessing Ceremony for little Josie. It was a small gathering of close friends and family celebrating the birth and life of Josie. We planted the tree in her honor and designated her "Godparents."

The weather couldn't have been nicer and it seemed that everyone had a great time. Josie was perfect the whole time and everything went according to plan. Given that we had never done anything like this before, I don't think it could have turned out any better.

Being that I had to be a part of the ceremony, I was unable to shoot the event myself. As a result I asked a good friend and fellow VW enthusiast Nate to shoot it for me. He did a great job and I appreciate him taking time out of his busy schedule to do so.

So here are the pictures from Sunday. Thank you all for those of you who came and for those who couldn't make it, thank you for the blessings/gifts. Enjoy!
