I wish I could say that it's been a quiet week for us but it's actually been quite the opposite. Josie came home with a fever Tuesday afternoon and hasn't been feeling well since. I took her to the doctors today and it turns out she has a bout of hand foot mouth disease. Symptoms include sores inside the mouth, loss of appetite, fever, and sore throat; all of which she has. As a result, she has not been sleeping well and has been very irritable. I'm pretty sure that it's starting to work its way out of her system though. Afterall, it's 3 a.m. and she's only been up once, and I was able to get her back to sleep without much protest. Unfortunately, the doctor says that she's still very contagious at this point. That's why we had to cancel our what was to be a funfilled weekend in Virginia. Even if she were feeling better, it wouldn't have been wise to have her around all the little ones that we had planned on mingling with. It's for the best; this way Josie and Mama can catch up on some much needed rest.
